Flor Campise and Joe Dumit co-hosted a workshops on slownesses that revolved around viscoelasticity – a property of materials that can both stretch and flow over time. Based on Flor’s bodymind scores, the workshop explored the concept-practices of viscoelasticity, materials with memory, and their entanglements with quantum physics and temporal disjunctions.

In addition to possessing a doctorate in quantum physics, Flor Campise is an Argentinian political activist, performance artist, and conductor of improvisational workshops. She has developed her research on moving bodies and their relation to space-time-matter in the convergence of these fields. She questions paradigms of knowledge construction by investigating topics such as perception, body, and experience.

Flor joined Joe Dumit (Chair of Performance Studies at UC Davis, and professor of Anthropology and of Science & Technology Studies) during one of his visits at the studio as a core member of Experimenting, Experiencing, Reflecting (EER), an art-and-science collaboration between Studio Olafur Eliasson and the Interacting Minds Center at Aarhus University, supported by the Carlsberg Foundation.
