Fog test in the studio: Olafur Eliasson and the team develop the work ‘Symbiotic seeing’ in the lead-up to the exhibition of the same name at Kunsthaus Zürich. Lasers concealed in the walls of a darkened room project slices of coloured light onto fog released periodically into the air. Miniature vortices, currents, and curlicues of fog swirl around above the heads of the visitors, reacting to the body heat and motion of the visitors standing beneath the fog to involve them directly in the production of their surroundings.
