Bridget Belgrave is a Nonviolent Communication (NVC) trainer with almost 30 years of experience. She was involved in introducing NVC in the UK and India, and continues to lead workshops in Europe, North America, and Asia. She has developed a number of new and innovative ways to learn, teach, and share NVC, one of which is the ‘NVC Dance Floors’ that she co-created with Gina Lawrie.
During her two workshops at the studio, Bridget introduced a variety of NVC dances — including the ‘self-empathy dance’, the ‘anger/shame dance’, and the ’13-step dance’. Her open and explorative sessions offered ways to experiment with spatialising NVC-founder Marshall Rosenberg’s original, four-step approach to defining one’s Observations, Feelings, Needs, and Requests. Experiencing the NVC theories through Bridget’s embodied practices added further dimensions to our understanding of NVC as a tool, a way of seeing or being, and of navigating the world and social interactions in our day-to-day lives.
